When choosing your preconception diet, obviously don't think of only yourself and what you like or don't like. Remember you are going to need nutrients in your system before, during and after your child's birth. I recommend looking at your own as well as your family's health issues and talking with your doctor to see what you can eat to get your body healthier and ready to do the up taking of carrying a baby in your belly. Picking a preconception diet is a key to avoiding overeating and extra pounds that may be unhealthy to the new life you are creating. If you have the time or even if you didn't, figure out a way to start exercising and picking better foods to feed your system. If you don't like carrots, eat them anyways....Having good health before pregnancy is a key factor in having a healthier pregnancy and baby.

  • make sure to have a check up before you get pregnant so you can talk with your doctor and get some more info.

  • If taking medications make sure they are OK to be using while in the process of trying to get pregnant.
  • make sure to do your own research and figure out what is best for your body type as well.

Your new preconception diet should also help you during pregnancy as well so you stay healthier and help you to not over eat. Remember just because your going to be eating for 2 doesn't mean you can eat everything!
